LAMB OF GOD Confirmed For Quebec's D-TOX ROCKFEST
February 16, 2011Outaouais Rock has announced that LAMB OF GOD and UNDEROATH will perform at the sixth edition of D-TOX Rockfest, which takes place June 15-19 in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. This follows the announcement of NOFX last January. LAMB OF GOD will headline the festival's Main Stage on Friday, June 17 at the marina in Montebello. The Richmond, Virginia-based band's performance at D-TOX Rockfest will be its first and only 2011 appearance. This is an exclusive opportunity for fans not to be missed!
"We're very happy to announce LAMB OF GOD — one of modern metal's most vital bands — as the Friday night headliner at this year's D-TOX Rockfest," says Alex Martel, president and founder of the festival. "After having pleased punk-rock fans all over Eastern Canada with the announcement of NOFX, we are confident that the addition of LAMB OF GOD will make metal fans very happy.''
Over 100 bands will perform at the sixth installment of the festival on its main outdoor stages (June 17-18) as well as at intimate indoor venues (June 15-19). The festival organizers are once again working on putting together a very diverse bill featuring many more international bands, as well as Quebec's cream of the crop and the best up-and-coming local acts. The camping areas will also be expanded.
Put together by Outaouais Rock, the festival has been growing considerably in the last couple of years, doubling or tripling its attendance every year. Known for its impressively diverse lineups, low ticket price, festive atmosphere and beautiful scenery right by the Outaouais River, Rockfest is quickly becoming a summer tradition. Located only 75 minutes from Montreal and 50 minutes from Ottawa, Rockfest is easily accessible for everyone. The festival recently won the Ovation Prize at Quebec's prestigious Tourism Awards in the Festivals and Tourist Events category, as well as the Arts & Culture Prize at the Chamber Of Commerce Awards.
Full announcement, press conference and general on-sale coming up in March, with a few other announcements and pre-sales in the meantime.
